Madikeri: The Education Department had conducted a Special Enrollment Drive from May 20 to 31, to ensure more admission of students in schools.
Zilla Panchayat CEO K Lakshmi Priya and Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Lakshmi visited the Government Primary School, which comes under the Kadagadalu Gram Panchayat, on May 30, where they were informed that a student named Annaiah R had stopped coming to school. Lakshmi Priya, along with other officers, visited Annaiah’s house and convinced him and his parents to continue his education.
Annaiah is now enrolled for class 8 at Kadagadalu Government High School. Annaiah’s father Kecchetira Shambu has ensured the officers that he would send his son to school.
Kadagadalu Panchayat Vice President Madettira Thimmaiah, Development Officer Devika B D, Kadagadalu Higher Primary School Headmistress Neelamma N U, gram panchayat members and staff were present.
