Madikeri: A youth, working in a private firm in Bengaluru lost his life after diving into a deep spot of Mallalli Falls, located in Somwarapet on Sunday, February 3.
Skanda, 24, who is a resident of Mysuru had come along with 11 of his colleagues on a weekend office trip at around 11 am on Sunday. However, brushing aside the caution boards at the place, he plunged into the water at the deepest spot.
When colleagues saw him struggle to get out, they immediately informed the Pravasi Mitra staff, who rushed immediately with ropes and other necessary materials to pull him out. By the time the staff could reach the spot, Skanda had drowned. His body was taken out using rescue materials.
Somwarpet police reached the spot and assessed the situation and case was also filed.
Later, the body was shifted to a government hospital for postmortem and then handed over to his family.
