Madikeri: In a tragic incident, a woman was killed in a collision between a car and lorry at Aanekadu near Kushalnagar on June 13.
The deceased has been identified as Philomena, a resident of Katakeri.
It is gathered that Philomena along with her son Praveen Daniel and daughter-in-law was travelling to the Dornahalli Church in Mysuru. Praveen, who is a soldier with the Indian Army, was on a vacation and was driving the car when the accident happened.
Praveen who received serious injuries has been shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. Praveen’s wife escaped miraculously with only minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses said that the car crashed into an oncoming lorry when the driver tried to overtake another vehicle. Police have registered a case in this regard.
