Madikeri: A six-year-old child was attacked by a wild boar at Kirugooru Hannikoppa village of Ponnampete here.
Lakshmi, the girl has sustained severe injuries in the attack and has been admitted to a hospital in Gonikoppa.
It is said that Lakshmi was walking towards her plantation line accommodation when the bore launched an attack on her. The girl was rescued by her parents in a severely injured state.
The locals have said that wild animals from Thithimati forest area keep barging into human settlements, unleashing havoc.
