Two students drown in river at Dubbare Elephant Camp

Kushalnagar: A tragic incident occurred at Kodagu’s Dubare Elephant Camp, where two students drowned in a river and lost their lives on Wednesday, March 4.

The deceased are Shreyas (14) and Nalin (14), students of Lions School, Gonikoppal.

According to reports, as many as 39 students from the Scouts and Guides were out for a picnic. Shreyas and Nalin, who had gotten down into the river drowned.

Reports state that the institution and its teachers had not taken permission to go to the Dubbare Elephant Camp, prompting the state education department take stringent action against the erring institution.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Kushalnagar Police Station
