Madikeri : A hill located in between Talacauvery and Bhagamandala has caved in due to heavy rains, disrupting traffic on the route. Huge rocks have fallen on the road near the hill.
As the authorities who had indications of the hill caving in, had already shifted the tourists camping in Talacauvery.
Kodagu district has been experiencing heavy rains since the past four days. The retention wall near the View Point had started collapsing on Friday morning itself and sensing danger, police had intercepted the vehicles.
Officials of the PWD, Police Department and Gram Panchayat visited the spot.
The water levels in Cauvery have risen due to rains and the Triveni Sangama in Bhagandeshwara Sannidhi is flooded.
