Madikeri: Auto drivers caught a thief after he was found stealing spare parts of autos in Suntikoppa on Thursday and handed him over to police.
Asmath from Abborkatte in Somwarpete is the arrested.
Few days back spare parts of an auto parked near a house was stolen. Even after several such theft cases, the thief was at large. However, the thief was caught red-handed on Thursday by the auto drivers, when he was trying to steal a tyre from a rikshaw owned by C C Manjnath which was parked near a hotel.
During interrogation, he revealed that he had execute several of such thefts in Kushalnagar.
He has been sent to Suntikoppa police custody who have registered a case in this regard.
