Madikeri: Rajya Sabha member Dr. Subramanian Swamy predicted that a separate Kodava state will be formed on the same model of Telangana and Uttarakhand in future, while participating at the 27th Kodava National Day as the chief guest here in Gandhi Maidan on November 26.
Addressing the gathering, Swamy said, “Formation of smaller states can pave way for the development of smaller communities, their language and culture. Kodavas too are Hindus and have contributed in various fields to the nation though they are a small community. Kodava women too have played an important role in contributing to the society on par with Kodava men.”
He also extended his support for various demands of CNC.
He added that a huge amount of black money had been flowing into Kodagu district and the menace could be dealt strongly only with the formation of a separate land for Kodavas. Former union minister P Chidambaram too owned properties here in Kodagu, he alleged.
Commenting on Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Swamy said, “Muslims can build mosque anywhere. But Ram Mandir which is close to Hindus’ hearts must be built in Ram Janma Bhumi that is Ayodhya. We hope that it will be built by the end of 2018. “
He further said, “Muslims ruled India for over 800 years and Christians ruled us for over 200 years. But despite that, 80 per cent of Hindus remained Hindus, proving that Hindu religion is the strongest. When Hindus and Muslims were subjected to DNA test, it was found that both the DNAs were same which is confirmed scientifically. Hence, all the Indian Muslims became Muslims due to foreign invasion and they all originally belong to India.”
He also criticised the Karnataka government for glorifying “anti-national” Tipu and called him a “bogus hero.”
CNC President N U Nachappa on the occasion, stated that his association would continue the fight untill its demands in support of Kodavas were fulfilled.
Dr. Swamy wore a traditional Kodava outfit and inaugurated the programme traditionally by firing gunshots in the air.
