Madikeri: District in-charge minister V Somanna has directed the concerned officials to look after the arrangements of the Talakavaeri Tula Sankramana fest that will be held on October 17 and 18.
Addressing a meeting on the Sri Kaveri Theerthotsava at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Monday, September 23, he said, “The fest shall be organized systematically. The arrangements regarding the basic necessities and infrastructural facilities for the devotees attending the fest shall be looked after.”
Somanna directed the Public Works Department (PWD) officers to clear the trees that had fallen on the Madikeri-Bhagamandala and Bhagamandala-Karike roads during the heavy rainfall.
Later, the Talakaveri temple administration explained to the minister the developmental projects that need to undertaken in the coming days.
Meanwhile, in a meeting on the Madikeri Dasara and Janaotsav, the minister released the poster for the event. He then directed the concerned officials to look after the arrangements and requirements of the festive celebration as well as road repairs.
Member of Parliament Pratap Simha, Deputy Commissioner Annies K Joy, MLA K G Bopaiah and others were present.
