Siddapura: A dispute between two brothers over plucking coffee beans drove one of the brothers to set ablaze two vehicles at Ammathi here in Kodagu district.
M K Vishwanath and M K Chittiyappa, two brothers were at loggerheads with each other over a property dispute. It is said that Vishwanath nurtured huge area of coffee plantation in the disputed land and this year, his brother Chittiyappa suddenly brought in workers to pluck the coffee seeds.
When Vishwanath resorted to questioning the same, an altercation broke out between the two and soon Chittiyappa pulled out a club and tried to assault Vishwanath. In the course of the fight, raged Chittiyappa set ablaze one jeep and one Maruti Omni belonging to Vishwanath and fled the spot.
Virajpete fire personnel rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. A case has been registered.
