Madikeri
: Isha Foundation Founder and spiritual thinker Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev will kickstart the ‘Cauvery Calling’ programme under his ‘Rally for Rivers’ campaign on September 3 at Talacauvery.

A bike rally will be flagged off at 11 am at Talacauvery, in which Sadhguru himself will take part. At least 25 bikes will go on a rally with him till Poompuhar.

The campaign aims at motivating the people living in the Cauvery’s place of origin to plant more saplings and maintain greenery so that the river, which has lost 40 per cent of its water over the last 50 years does not suffer further.

While 20,000 farmers of Tamil Nadu have come forward to plant saplings to save river Cauvery, the campaign will be held in Mysuru on September 5.

The campaign started on September 3 will be held for a period of three months and more and more farmers will be sensitised about the need to grow more trees to save rivers. At 3.30 pm, Sadhguru will address a public meet on September 3 at Madikeri’s Crystal Hall.
