Madikeri: M V Krishna Reddy, a government hospital officer from Telangana who has won a Guinness Book of Records for travelling maximum kilometers in minimal time all over the country, spreading awareness about cancer, in battery-operated car, was felicitated for Rotary Misty Hills by Rotary Zonal Secretary Anil H T and Zonal Teach Project President Ambekal Kushalappa here at the Rotary auditorium, recently. Reddy is on a world tour in his battery-operated car was in Kodagu.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Reddy said, “Due to rampant urbanisation, the incidences of cancer has increased. There is an immediate need to effectively curb pollution in cities as well as villages failing which, the people will fall victims to deadly diseases.”
“When I was discussing at home about the diseases caused by pollution, my mother Sarojamma told me that it was not enough if I just spoke at home and instead, she exhorted me to travel around and create awareness among people. Hence, in the battery-operated car I manufactured, I decided to travel the country along with my son. a person from London had created a record by driving 1333 km in 23 days. I broke this record by covering 1665 km in just 9 days,” shared Reddy.
Krishna Reddy was bestowed with the Guinness record for spreading awareness among people about pollution control and treatment for cancer by travelling in his battery-operated car.
He expressed his joy over visiting Kodagu lauding the district for its clean air and healthy people.
Reddy also expressed his desire to travel the world in his battery-operated car.
Rotary Misty Hills President M R Jagadish said Reddy was setting an ideal for the people to stop using pollution-causing vehicles by travelling in a battery-operated car.
Rotary Misty Hills Secretary Pramod Kumar Rai, Treasurer Prasad Gowda, Club Service Director Leena Poovaiah and Priyakrishna Reddy were also present.
