People of Kodagu have protected the nature: Adichunchanagiri Seer

Madikeri: “The people of Kodagu did not destroy the nature but have been planting and nurturing some of the expensive trees, which are protecting the same by growing a greener environment”, said the seer of Adichunchanagiri Matt, Shri Nirmalaananda Swamiji.

He visited the flood affected areas and consoled the victims. He also gave a lesson on nature conservation to the students of Makkandur Government School.

“The natural disasters are a result of global warming and love towards nature should be invoked within every individual”, he said.

Swamiji guided by saying that none should be given an opportunity to create imbalance in nature. He assured of necessary help to the flood victims.

He drew the attention of the students by speaking on the limited usage of electricity.

Later he visited Makkandur, Hemmatalu, Meghatalu, Katakeri and several other areas, which were catastrophically affected by the cloudburst. He met the devastated lives and expressed sorrow for the victims.

Around 16 victim families were given Rs 50,000 each as a financial aid. He also assured of free education to the students of Makkandur Government School.

“The Matt will always respond to the issues of Kodagu”, he said.
