Madikeri: “Serving the flood victims irrespective of caste, creed and religion is close to worshipping God”, said Pontiff of Pejawar Mutt Shree Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji.
After visiting the flood and landslides hit areas of Kodagu, the Pejawar seer said, “Worshipping God does not mean one carrying out rituals and offerings. If an individual can donate atleast 1 percent of his wealth towards the flood victims, then that is equivalent to Almighty’s service.”
He gave a call to each one gathered there to help the victims at the earliest.
The Swamiji said that Rs 10 Lakh each will be provided for Kerala and Kodagu flood relief.
He said that he had helped around 60 flood victims of Kerala and that he would do the same for Kodagu victims too after having discussed with the Palimaru seer.
Secretary of Bharatiya Vidyabhavan, Kodagu Centre, Balaji Kashyap provided the information based on the devastation that took place in Kodagu.
The Pejawar seer visited landslide areas such as Makkandur, Udayagiri and Madenaadu and was in a state of shock for a moment. In the meantime, he also consoled the victims not to lose hope.
