Pandanda Kuttappa, man behind ‘family hockey’ in Kodagu no more-1Madikeri: Pandanda Kuttappa, the man who conceived the idea of ‘family hockey’ in Kodagu is no more.

The 86-year-old state-level Rajyotsava awardee breathed his last at his son's residence in Bengaluru on Thursday morning.

Kuttappa, popularly known as Kuttani, a retired State Bank of India official and a hockey enthusiast, started family hockey tournament exclusively for the Kodavas in 1997, reflecting the passion and love of the Kodavas for Hockey.

In this unique tournament, members of various Coorg families (clans), play one another. Through this platform, Kuttappa managed to bring together over 200 families under one platform.

Entire district is mourning the loss of a man who managed to develop love, brotherhood between hundreds of Kodava clans utilising sports.
