Madikeri: Former PM and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda will visit Kodagu district in the first week of October, said former JD(S) district President Sanket Poovaiah on Saturday, September 21.
Speaking on the matter of a change in the JD(S) district presidency, Poovaiah said, “The party’s national president HD Deve Gowda has assured us that the party’s district president KM Ganesh will not be replaced. HDD will be attending a meeting with the party workers during the first week of October and will request them to support Ganesh.”
“As HDD is eyeing the by-elections, he has shown interest in strengthening the party. He is of the belief that Ganesh has the capacity to unite people and strengthen the party. For this reason itself, he has assured that Ganesh will not be replaced,” he added.
Poovaiah further said that HDD held a prolonged meeting with a JD(S) delegation and had expressed disappointment about the clashes that had transpired between two groups within the party due to the district presidency post.
JD(S) District President KM Ganesh, District Secretary N C Sunil, District President of Minority Cell Ishaq Khan, and others were present during the meeting with HDD in Bengaluru.
