Madikeri: A naxal named Roopesh, who was seen a couple of years ago in the Mundrotu village of Kodagu was produced before the court, here on Monday, October 29.
Earlier, Roopesh was lodged in an Andhra Pradesh jail and later under the custody of the Kerala police, he was kept in the Thrissur jail.
He was found with five of his counterparts, about five years ago in the Mondrutu forest area.
Due to court proceedings, he was brought from the Kerala jail under tight security.
As he was brought to the court premises under the surveillance of Anti Naxal Squad, Kerala Police and Kodagu Police, Roopesh began raising pro-Maoist slogans.
He said that fight for Maoism was not a crime and stressed for the release of Sudha Bharadwaj, Arun Ferreira, P Varavara Rao and many other Maoist fighters.
The court has adjourned its proceedings to November 27. Roopesh was then taken back to Kerala jail via Virajpet route.
