Madikeri: Indian Land Army Major General P C Thimmaiah has been promoted as Lieutenant General and has been posted as Additional Director General of Army Complaints and Grievances Centre, New Delhi.
Son of Pattacheruvanda Ponnappa Changappa and Gauru Changappa, Thimmaiah had his early school from Bhuvaneshari Sainik School. He then went on to join the National Defense Academy Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He joined the Army in 1981 and served as Defense Advisor to Indian High Commission in Bangladesh. He headed the West Command and the East Command.
He is married to Neena Thimmaiah and he has two sons- Arjun Thimmaiah who is serving the Indian Navy and Akshay Thimmaiah, who is pursuing his Mass Communication studies.
