Madikeri: “The roadways in and around the city are in complete disrepair. Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy has assured us that the repair work will be started after December 15,” said president of Madikeri Rakshana Vedike, Pawan Pemmaiah.
A delegation led by All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa, on Tuesday, November 26, met the DC at her office and brought to her attention the bad condition of the roads, heaps of garbage at Stone Hill and the stray dog and other animals’ menace in the city.
Pawan said, “The garbage issue at Stone Hill has been persistent for the past 20 years and it is difficult to find an immediate solution. For a stop to be put on the stray dog breeding, the cooperation of various organizations is essential. We also require the support of the police in order to relocate these stray animals. The DC has responded positively to the entire plea and has asked for the cooperation of the Madikeri Rakshana Vedike.”
Meanwhile, he opined that this is a victory for the organization and a reward for its relentless efforts.
Organizing secretary of the organization B M Harish, secretary Ajit Kottakerian, director Dinesh Nair and others were present.
