Injured elephant calf shifted to Dubare Camp

Madikeri: An elephant calf was found to be injured when the forest officials were chasing away a wild elephant herd at the Anandpura Tata Coffee Estate on May 22.

The forest officials found that the female calf aged about 4 years had sustained injuries to her left hind-leg. Medical officer of Hunsur forest division, Dr. Mujeeb provided first aid and advised to shift the calf to the Dubare Elephant Camp for further treatment.

With the help of three trained elephants ACF Roshni, RFO Gopal, DRFO Kallira Devaiah and other forest officials successfully shifted the distressed calf to Dubare.
