Madikeri: A person who was transporting lottery tickets to sell illegally was nabbed by the Suntikoppa Police and Special Crime Division, here on Monday, May 20.
The accused is Sainaf (34), a resident of Matnahalli, 7th Hosakote.
The officials have seized 2300 lottery tickets worth Rs 76000, which according to police sources, was being transported from the Iritty town of Kerala.
He was nabbed under the direction of Superintendent of Police Suman D Pennekar and Somwarpet DySP Dinakar Shetty.
CPI Dinesh Kumar, Suntikoppa PSI I Jayaram and team were successful in nabbing Sainaf along with the lottery tickets.
Special Crime Division personnel D S Dayanand, T S Saji, V S Joseph, V Prakash, Suntikoppa police staff Puneeth Kumar and Harish, Rajesh and Girish from CDR Cell were in the investigation team.
The action was taken based on a complaint by the public about Kerala lottery sales in the Suntikoppa area.
