HDK to visit Kodagu on Feb 28; Various developmental programmes to be launched

Madikeri: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy will be visiting Kodagu district on Thursday, February 28, to launch various developmental programmes.

Kumaraswamy will arrive at 4.15 PM, and will inaugurate developmental projects of Kodagu district at 4.30 PM in Basavanahalli.

The Chief Minister will hand over houses to the homeless in Diddalli, which has been allotted to them by the government. The houses for the homeless has been constructed at Basavanahalli and Byadagotta, and the inauguration of the same will be done by HDK.

Inauguration and installation of various development works are as follows

1. Two rooms to be constructed in Government Model Primary School at Bettagiri costing Rs 16.40 lakhs. One room to be constructed in Government Higher Primary School at Kolagadhalu village, costing Rs 8.20 lakhs. Four rooms to be constructed at Government Junior Primary school in Jodupala village costing Rs 32 lakhs. Two rooms to be constructed in Government Higher Primary School at Hodhawada Village costing Rs 14.50 lakhs. Three rooms in Government Higher Primary School Building at Bettathur village costing Rs 24.60 lakhs. In addition to this, developmental work at a cost of Rs 95.70 lakhs in Madikeri taluk and Rs 8.20 lakhs for Virajpet Higher Secondary School. A total of Rs 103.90 lakh has been allotted for the schools across the district.

2. Total number of 172 roads and bridge construction, including roads in flood hit rural areas at a cost of Rs 5,000 lakhs, and bridges connecting to schools at a cost of Rs 2,548 lakhs.

3. Developmental work in Madikeri’s ‘Raja Seat’ at a cost of Rs 455 lakhs, and construction of parking area in the banks of River Kaveri near Dubare forest in Somwarpet taluk at a cost of Rs 102 lakhs. Construction of the sub-jail building at Virajpet Taluk at a cost of Rs 450 lakhs. Sub division office of Public Works Department in Somwarpet at a cost of Rs. 120 lakhs. Deputy Divisional Office Building of the Department of Public Works in Somawarpet Taluk, constructed at a cost of Rs 8,675 lakhs in three taluks of the district.
A total of 8,675 lakhs of developmental works in the district’s three taluks has been carried out.

Kumaraswamy will also inaugurate houses which have been constructed at a cost of Rs 2,481 lakhs under Girijana Kalyana Yojane, layouts and other basic facilities worth Rs 1134.97 lakhs, boarding facilities in Basavanahalli Ashram school which has been constructed at a cost of 198 lakhs, and also foundation stone laying ceremony for various school buildings, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 320.50 lakhs and road construction to be carried out in flood affected areas at a cost of Rs 1253.50 lakhs.
