Madikeri: The state government is amassing huge funds for next Assembly elections by taking up massive development projects and terming them as pro-people, accused JDS State President Kumaraswamy.

Reddy giving Rs 500 cr to BJP for upcoming elections: Kumaraswamy-1Speaking to reporters, HDK said only Congress party will benefit out of those projects and people gain nothing.

Recently, a Congress legislator had talked of poll preparedness with Rs 10 Crore in his kitty while stating lack of funds to fight elections 4 years ago. This statement clearly shows the party’s agenda for elections, HDK added.

Will the congress party fund the candidates out of its own treasury exceeding the limits stipulated?, questioned H D Kumaraswamy.

When the state is witnessing an unprecedented drought this year and with people moving towards other places from villages in large numbers, the state government is drawing comfort by talking of Anna Bhagya scheme in preventing exodus.

The government does not appear to be keen on addressing the problems of the affected people and will it be possible to assess the gravity of the situation arising out of drought by sitting inside the air conditioned chambers in Vidhana Soudha? HDK asked.

The officials will not be able to gather correct information through video conference, he stated.

The JDS has the biggest challenge to waive off Rs 52000 Crore worth farmer loans in one go, when it gains power after touching the magic number 113, he said.

Ruling out the electoral understanding with Congress and BJP, HDK said both parties ruling at the centre and state have failed to solve the problems of common people.

Congress on cloud-9 after by-poll victory

The Congress party seems to be on cloud 9 post by-poll victory and appears to be living in a dream world of its won. The government seems to be only worried about retaining power and in the process has let down the people of the state, HDK said.

Red light beacon ban by PM Modi, a gimmick

The red light beacon ban introduced by the Modi government, effective from May 1, 2017 is more a gimmick than anything else, HDK said.

Welcoming the move to ban red light beacons in VIP vehicles, HDK said, without solving the problems of people, introducing ban on VIP vehicles is a mere stunt.

In abroad, VIPs do not use government vehicles at all and let the central government introduce the same system effectively here, HDK challenged.
