Madikeri: Following the arrest of a government employee Rajesh D Bangera in the district, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has quickened its investigations in Madikeri in connection with activist, journalist Gowri Lankesh.
The SIT, following the information revealed by Rajesh, has inspected documents at a weapons and arms establishment in the city, said sources.
The SIT is conducting primary investigations about Rajesh purchasing arms and bullets from the establishment. The sleuths also interrogated Rajesh’s close friends, claimed sources.
Though the SIT is moving in 3 teams in the district, the officials remain tight-lipped on the information unearthed by it. No information about the progress of the investigations has been revealed so far.
Sources also said that the SIT had detained two and subjected them to rigorous questioning based on the statements by Rajesh. Another team visited Palur Village and collected information from Rajesh’s family, it is gathered.
