Madikeri: Deputy Commissioner Annies Kanmani Joy chaired a meeting with regard to arrangements for an educational and cultural film show for school students, on Tuesday, December 3.
She said, “The film show must be arranged without any pressure or compulsion on the students and parents and the responsibility of taking the children to the show and dropping them back safely is in the hands of the concerned principal of the school.”
“The education department officers of the concerned taluks must see to it that the movie theatres have passed all the security measures and that the children are safe,” she added.
Madikeri education officer Gayatri said that the children from classes 6 to 9 will be sent to the film show.
Manager of the Karnataka Educational and Cultural Children Film Association S Ramesh said, “With the permission of the education department, we have decided to screen a movie titled ‘Yelayaru Navu Geleyaru’ from December 13 to 19 from 8 AM to 10 AM at the Kaveri Mahal theatre in Madikeri, Woodland theatre in Siddapur, Yashaswini theatre in Shanivarasanthe and Ganesh theatre in Suntikoppa. The entry fee will be Rs 15 per student.”
“As Kushalnagar has more number of schools, the movie will be shown in the Coorg Cineplex from December 13 to 23 from 8 AM to 10 AM,” he added.
The concerned officials and theatre owners were present.
