Madikeri: On the same day that Kumaraswamy won the vote of confidence in the Assembly, Janata Dal (S) District President Sanketh Poovaiah expressed his confidence that HDK would provide effective solutions to the problems faced by Kodagu district as well as the state.
Addressing a press meet here Sanketh said, “We will invite Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to the district within two months. We will prepare a proper action plan to resolve various problems in the district.”
He added that the Congress-JD(S) coalition government would respond to the grievance of the district despite the JD(S) having no MLAs in Kodagu.
“We will hold a ‘Gramavastavya’ programme in Kodagu district when the chief minister visits Kodagu to resolve the people’s problems”, he assured.
He also listed out some outstanding issues in the district including waiving off coffee growers’ loan and loan interest of Strishakthi self-help groups, resolving the man-animal conflict and providing support prices to paddy farmers. “We will work for the overall development of the district”, Sanketh Poovaiah said.
