Madikeri: Investigations into the death of a class 9 student who was found dead at Sainik school in Kodagu has revealed that the boy had, on Saturday consumed chemical before locking himself up in the school toilet.
As per police sources, 14-year-old Changappa had been reprimanded by one of the teachers at the school after he was caught watching porn on a computer and had instructed him to tender an apology letter. Visuals captured on the CCTV show the boy going to the chemistry lab and drinking a chemical. Later he locked himself up in the school toilet from where he was found in an unconscious state.
Since Changappa had not answered two roll calls in the day, school authorities started a search for him and found him in an unconscious state in the school toilet. Though he was rushed to the hospital he was declared brought dead.
Soon after the incident, a tense situation prevailed in the area especially after Changappa’s family raised suspicions of foul play in his death. A complaint was filed by the family and police sources say they registered a complaint of murder as that was what the family demanded.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the police have briefed the family about the findings of the investigation.
