Madikeri: Preparations are being made in full swing for the Cauvery Theerthodbhava ceremony, which is slated to be held on October 17 at 6.29 am.
Thousands of devotees throng Talacauvery, the place of birth of river Cauvery on the Tulu Sankramana day to witness the phenomenon of ‘Theerthodbhava’.
Keeping this in mind, bus facilities, lighting, installation of barricades, parking facilities, drinking and toilet facilities among other arrangements have been made by the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Richard Vincent D’Souza and Superintendent of Police P Rajendra Prasad visited Bhagamandala Triveni Sangama and Talacauvery on Friday and inspected the on going preparations.
The DC said that the visitors would exempted of parking fees at Talacauvery for three days, viz: October 16 to 18. The devotees would be allowed to take part in the religious rituals on October 17 at Bhagamandala from 4 am to 3 pm.
The SP Said that 35 CCTV cameras have been installed in vantages points and 500 policemen will be deputed on duty to ensure security during the event.
