Madikeri: A speeding car hit a wayside tree and toppled killing a youth and injuring the fellow passenger near Coorgalli Estate on Madikeri-Mysore State highway on March 10.
Kaushik (29), son of Somaiah, a resident of Pumpwell Layout in Suntikoppa town is the deceased.
The incident occurred when Kaushik was heading in his car bearing registration number KA-12-Z-9247 towards Kushalnagar after taking part in the post death rituals death of his grandmother.
Kaushik suffered severe injuries on his head and died en route to the hospital. Ritesh, the other passenger suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Madikeri.
