Madikeri: In a tragic incident, a lone elderly woman was murdered and her gold jeweleries were looted by some unidentified burglars. The murder and robbery took place in Kambaladalu village, near Murnad. The deceased is identified as Radha (69). The incident came to limelight only on Saturday, a couple of days after the murder.
Radha lived all alone in her house in Kambaladalu, as her two sons were working in different locations, and her daughter lives some 2 km away. Her sons tried to call her on phone several times in the past 2-3 days but Radha was not receiving their calls. Concerned and worried, they asked a few labourers to check upon their mother if everything was alright. On visiting Radha’s house on Saturday, the labourers found her dead body.
People of the village who visited the spot informed about the incident to the police. Napoklu police, District Police Dog Squad and Fingerprint experts rushed to the spot and assessed the situation.
Radha’s sons checked the house and found that the gold jeweleries which belonged to their mother were missing. They immediately reported this to the police.
A case has been registered in Napoklu police station and a special team has been formed to nab the culprits.
