Attempt to put full stop on ganja addiction in ‘Land of Mist’

Madikeri: The numbers in relation to ganja addiction have seemingly increased in the land known for coffee and mist, Kodagu. Anoop Madappa, who has taken charge as circle inspector, has been making earnest attempts to curtail ganja dealings.

Complaints have been filed on 9 people including students, who are said to be addicted to ganja. The addiction to ganja is said to have increased the crime rate among youth. The police department was made aware of certain places where it was sold. The parents and teaching fraternity had also shown concern.

Circle Inspector Anoop Madappa had warned the detainees and made them undergo medical tests.

The swift action by Anoop Madappa, within merely two weeks of his appointment, has been lauded by the public.
