Madikeri: KPCC Chief DK Shivakumar has opined that the ruling BJP, the Congress and the JDS have all failed in safeguarding the interest of Kodagu district.
Visiting the hilly district which has been battered by heavy rains, the KPCC Chief said that the ‘Kashmir of Karnataka’ brings in lot of money into the state excehquer, but unfortunately remains neglected.
Witnessing the rescue operations underway at Brahmagiri, Talacauvery, where five persons including chief priest of Talacauvery went missing couple of days ago, DKShi said that river Cauvery, whch originates in Kodagu, breathes life into several districts of the state.
“Over the last three years, the district has been torn apart by heavy rains and floods and no party has been able to help the district. The local MLAs have utterly failed in their duties,” he opined.
