Kundapur: “There is no Modi wave in Karnataka. The contribution made by Modi government to the state is nil. Only rumours are being circulated by the paid media,” alleged H D. Kumaraswamy.

Speaking to reporters at Kundapur during the fishermen’s convention, H D Kumaraswamy said that the surveys flashed on the news channels are fake. The BJP has spent Rs. 550 crore for publicity and hence the news channels are showing fake surveys.

He said that the Kannada news channels were projecting as if the parliamentary elections were being held only in Mandya, Hassan and Tumakuru.

He further said that the coalition will definitely win 20 to 23 seats in Karnataka and that his son would win in Mandya with a huge margin.

“This time, the BJP cannot fool the people because voters know the contribution made by the Modi government. The youth have been mislead and are jobless,” he alleged.

Answering queries, he said there would be a change in the coastal districts after the parliamentary elections. The Congress will win Dakshina Kannada seat and the JD(S) will win in Udupi and Uttar Kannada parliamentary seats respectively.

Answering another query, Kumaraswamy said that the achievements of Union Minister Ananthkumar Hegde were only his controversial statements and there was no development in Uttara Kannada. “Neither Narendra Modi nor Ananthkumar Hegde has done anything for development,” he said.

Later, JDS candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency Pramod Madhwaraj said that the media was biased and one-sided because the media never mentioned issues including Yeddyurappa’s dairy and Shobha Karandlaje’s corruption issues.
