Yadgir/Chikkamagaluru: The officials of National Investigation Agency, Hyderabad, are said to have detained a person at Surpur on Wednesday, according to sources in Intelligence department.

However, the name and other details of the person detained were not available.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police M Mutturaya told reporters that no one associated with any terror organisation was residing in Yadgir.

He said that security has been beefed up at Basavasagara reservoir of Narayanpur in the wake of bomb blast at Bengaluru. He said that strict vigil was being maintained at public places such as railway station and bus stand.

However, the police said that an official from National Investigation Agency, Pune, visited Yadgir in September 2014 and questioned some persons.

Meanwhile, the Chikkamagalur police are said to have detained a youth in connection with the recent bomb blast at Bengaluru. It is said that youth from Bettageri in Chikkamagaluru and three others from Shivamogga had been to Bengaluru three days ago. They were said to be moving about suspiciously at the blast site. However, the police have not confirmed this.
