Koppal: In a heart-wrenching incident, three children died after a pile of sand fell on them in the Navali village of Koppal district’s Kanakagiri taluk.
The deceased have been identified as Kavita (2), Sonam (5) and Savita (3).
According to the police, the children belong to a family who migrated from Maharastra to work in a coal factory. “They were playing on a pile of sand when suddenly, the pile fell on and trapped them. They died due to suffocation,” The locals claimed.
Local authorities rushed to the spot after the incident and the village witnessed a tense situation as the locals claimed that the sand mafia was the cause of the tragedy.
