Koppal: Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s social media presence has become a topic of discussion lately and his twitter account has added about one million followers in the past few months. A yound girl also got aboard the van of Gandhi and clicked selfies with him during his road show in Bharuch in south Gujarat during state elections.
As the poll fever is gripping Karnataka ahead of Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi too started his campaign here in Bellary on February 10. An ardent fan of Rahul Gandhi, Dinesh Sharma hailing from a farmer’s family in Kakrod village in Haryana followed Gandhi to Bellary barefoot and he says that he would stop walking barefoot the day Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister of India.
Dinesh Sharma, a law graduate has been following Rahul Gandhi all around India since 2011 and walks barefoot. The Gandhi scion’s bhakt, a 23-year old Sharma follows Gandhi during the latter’s rallies and roadshows. Donning a saffron turban and a specially designed kurta having Congress symbol ‘hand’ in it, Sharma wants to see Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister of India.
On February 10, Saturday, Sharma followed Rahul to Bellary but was taken to custody by the police. However, as his identity got revealed, he was released.
