Koppal: More than 20 children staying at a residential school hostel in Tavaregara village in Kushtagi taluk here were hospitalised after they took ill due to food poisoning.
The incident took place at a residential school hostel being run by Social Welfare Department for the nomadic and semi-nomadics.
While 12 children are recovering after treatment at a local government hospital here, the remaining eight children who are said to be serious have been shifted to another hospital for further treatment. The parents of the children are concerned over the health of their wards.
On coming to know of the incident the authorities concerned rushed to the hostel and quizzed the staff over the lapse.
A case has been registered in Tavaregara police station.
