Koppal: A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and impregnated by her own guardian. The incident came to light after villagers complained to the police after the girl became pregnant.
The accused has been identified as Krishnappa, a labourer in Basrikatte village of Karnataka’s Koppal district. The girl who is visually impaired was adopted by him after her biological parents abandoned her.
The girl is a class 7 student at a government school.
“Krishnappa, who is a drunkard, allegedly assaulted and raped the victim on several occasions. He had also threatened the victim of serious consequences if she complained about it,” a senior police official said as quoted by Times of India.
Investigations are on in this regard.
