Koppal: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that all Karnataka lawmakers will be allowed to speak on the Constitution in a special assembly session on March 4 and 5.
Speaking to reporters at a private event in Kukanoor on Wednesday, February 26, the Chief Minister said that all legislators are being provided copies of the Constitution in the Kannada language.
The two-day special session is a first of its kind in state history and is being organised to commemorate 70 years since India adopted the Constitution.
Although the session is being held with the intention of discussing the Constitution and its specialty, it is expected that the debate will also include speeches from MLAs on the newly-implemented CAA and NRC.
Meanwhile, CM Yediyurappa informed that the State Budget 2020-21 is being prepared and will be ready to present on March 5. “Due priority will be accorded to farmers of North Karnataka, including Koppal district,” he added.
Housing schemes are also expected to get a boost with the CM reportedly proposing a Rs 450-crore allocation to the department.
