Kodagu: The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Ka Ra Ve) Swabhimani Bana district president Unais Peraje submitted a request to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to build a well-equipped hospital in the Kodagu district.
As the national highway passes right through the district, there are many road accidents and the victims have to be taken to hospitals in the neighbouring districts for treatment. As a result, many succumb to their injuries on the way to the hospitals.
Apart from this, the district has many labourers working in the estates and other related industries. If there are any mishaps in the workplace or injuries sustained from wild animal attacks, again, the victims have to be transported to the neighbouring districts for treatment.
For these reasons, the government must take immediate action and construct a fully-equipped hospital in Kodagu, the appeal submitted to the CM stated.
Peraje, who met with the CM in Malooru Hobali of the Chennapattana Taluku in the Ramanagara district, informed that the latter’s response to the request was positive.
Ramanagara DC Shivagowda was also present at the meeting venue.
