Hunsoor Police nab 2 dacoits, 2 Bikes Recovered

Hunsoor: The city cops nabbed two dacoits who were looting motorists of valuables while driving slowly on the withered state highway between Hunsoor – Gonikoppa.

SP Abhinav Khare led district policemen nabbed 2 amongst 5 dacoits and recovered gold jewellery, mobile phones, ATM cards and 2 motorcycles, informed Additional SP R B Mohan Reddy during the press meet.

Both SP Abhinav and Additional SP Mohan Reddy began investigations on several looting incidences that are reoccurring on the state highway during night times.  Accordingly, the policemen were able to arrest Vasi Sharif, a native of Siddapura, Salim, a native of Napoklu, during the joint operations on Monday August 12 morning.  Other 3 accused were in large.  On severe interrogations, 3 incidences of dacoity were come to light.

The dacoits group waylaid a couple driving in their car on Mysore – Gonikoppa, near Arasu Kallahalli, about a month ago, and looted a pair of anklets, gold biscuits, by branding lethal weapons and shared the booty after selling the gold ornaments in a jewellery shop at Siddapura.  In another incidence that occurred on July 31 night, motorists – Murulidas and his friends who were travelling in their car from Mysore to Kannur, Kerala were robbed of one gold chain, 4 mobile phones and ATM cards.  They sold the gold chain in a jewellery shop at Mysore and also sold the mobile phones to a person in Mysore.

The same group stopped the car of Rinil who was driving his car along with his friends from Mysore to Tellicherry, Kerala on July 6 night at in front of New Sagar Hotel, kidnapped, after looting Rs 85,850 cash and them in ransom for Rs 10 lac for a day.

The dacoits were targeting the motorists who are driving slow on withered Panchavalli Road, with the guise that a major accident has taken in deserted road during the night and assaulting them with lethal weapons, before fleeing with their valuables.

The operation was carried out on the instructions of Hunsoor DySP Muddumahadevayya, by circle inspector Gajendra Prasad led police personnel, Gajendra Prasad, Arun L, H S Lingaraju, Surendra Jeet, Mahadevappa, Anand, Manju, Ravish, Manjunat, Ramachandrappa, Lokesh, Prabakar and others.
