Kodagu: The dead body of Talacauvery temple chief priest Narayan Acharya was finally retrieved by the NDRF team after a five-day-long search operation on Tuesday, August 11.

It may be recalled that five persons, including Narayan Acharya his wife Shantha and three others, went missing after a massive landslide at Brahmagiri, Talacauvery. Search operations kick-started immediately after the incident.

On Tuesday morning, two vehicles belonging to Acharya’s family were also recovered. Though the dead body found on Tuesday morning was initially believed to be of Shanta Acharya, the NDRF later confirmed that it was the body of her husband, Narayan Acharya.

The dead body of another missing person was found two days ago. With this, two bodies have been recovered and the NDRF team is engaged in locating the three other persons who are feared dead.

Meanwhile, two daughters of Narayan Acharya arrived at Madikeri on Monday and met with the local leaders.
