Kodagu: In a sudden decision, instead of going for campaign in Chincholi and Kundagol, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy checked into a resort on the outskirts of Madikeri city. He was joined by his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy and son Nikhil Kumaraswamy. All the resort staff have been given leave.
According to the sources, till Friday afternoon, nothing was confirmed. The police were also declining that the CM will stay in the resort. But at about 8 pm, CM HD Kumaraswamy, his wife Anitha and son Nikhil arrived at the resort separately. Tourism minister, SR Mahesh, who is also the district in-charge minister is also staying in the resort.
According to the sources in the Chief Minister’s Office, HDK will stay back in the resort for three days. It is also said that former CM Siddaramaiah too stayed back in the same resort with his son Yatheendra last week.
With most part of the state reeling under drought and flood relief works yet to be completed in Kodagu, the CM’s resort stay is being criticised.
