Kodagu: A rogue tusker that caused a lot of loss to agricultural land for the past one year was finally apprehended at a coffee estate, Kalatmaadu here.
The forest officials were able to capture the tusker on Saturday, April 10 after three days of intense operation. The 35-year-old elephant was captured with the help of six other elephants from the Mattigodu elephant sanctuary.
The villagers from Kalatmaadu and Ammatti of Ponnampet are now heaving a sigh of relief as the tusker now has been captured. The elephant has been transported to Bandipur Reserve Forest.
