Karwar: Two persons were killed on the spot when an uprooted tree fell on the bike they were riding on Saturday, July 14 on National Highway 63 in Yellapur taluk.
The deceased have been identified as Subhash (50) and Nagaraj (25), both residents of Ankola.
The duo were travelling from Yellapur to Ankola when the tree that got uprooted due to the gutsy winds accompanying the heavy rains fell on their bike, killing them on the spot.
Yellapur police personnel and Tahsildar DG Hegde visited the sopt. The dead bodies were sent to district hospital mortuary. A case is registered at Yellapur police station.
