Karwar: Uttara Kannada district registered two new cases on Wednesday morning, taking the district’s total COVID-19 tally to 30.
The new cases have been reported from Bhatkal and Kumta and the case reported from Bhatkal is of a two-year-old child.
While this is the first case from Kumta, Bhatkal has been a corona hotspot with 29 cases having been reported so far.
As far as the first case from Kumta is concerned, the 26-year-old man tested positive had come from Ratnagiri and had gone into quarantine. However, when his throat swab was sent for tests, the report was positive.
A sense of fear has gripped Kumta area after this case.
