Karwar: The Excise officers have taken into custody two people for smuggling more than 70 bottles of liquor from different companies from Goa.
The accused are identified as Deepak and Lakshman from Karwar.
The culprits were nabbed from the Maigini forest area of Karwar district. The duo was transporting the liquor through a forest road connectivity from Goa.
The Excise officials and the police have seized beer bottles, beer tin and liquor of various other brands. The scooter used for this act has been seized and a complaint registered with the Chittakula Police Station.
