Karwar: Thieves vandalised a Vijaya Bank ATM in the Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district on Saturday night, in an attempt to steal money.
They however, dropped their plans upon hearing the sound of a vehicle approaching.
The thieves had reportedly broken into the cash chamber of the ATM, when they were alerted by the sound of a vehicle and aborted their plans.
Kumta police visited the spot, registered a case and have begun investigations.
