Karwar: District-in-charge Commissioner Munish Moudgil has directed all the Tehsildars of the Uttara Kannada district to take stock of the situation in the surrounding areas and prepare an action plan within 24 hours.
Addressing the district Tehsildars through a video conference, Moudgil said, “The measures taken to control the flood situation has been good. Additional measures must be taken to bring relief and restoration to the victims. In this regard, a comprehensive plan detailing various aspects must be submitted within 24 hours. The status of 116 centres within the district must be consolidated and presented.’
Moudgil said that the plan must comprise information pertaining to the supply of clothes, food shortages, and an inventory of utensils at the relief camps. The report must also consolidate data regarding the death of livestock, damage to farmlands, houses, roads, etc.
The next stages of planning will be carried out in the coming months, he added.
Deputy Commissioner (Uttara Kannada) Dr Harish Kumar and Zilla Panchayat CEO Mohammed Roshan were present.
