Karwar: People of Chatrakurve village, Kumta Taluk have resorted to an innovative style of protesting against the local representative for not filling the potholes on the roads for years.

People from the surrounding areas of Mirjan began cultivation process in the pothole that surfaced on the mud roads, here on Sunday, August 4. The mud road is located 3 kms from the prominent tourist destination- the Mirjan Fort and 200 local residents and many more depend on this road on daily basis. People say that not even a single rupee has been sanctioned till date by the government towards the road construction.

They say that even though the road leads to the famous Mirjan Fort, which comes under the archaeological department, the place being one of the prominent tourist spots, the tourism department too has turned a blind eye.

They have also requested MLA Dinakar Shetty to visit the place atleast once and inspect the area and analyze the issue to find a solution.
